Hi Xavier, can the rounds be consecutive? I am thinking that depending on the battery capacity, we could do up to two rounds per flight, right?

You could do it the way you want. This is for fun. Not too many rules.

I think the pilots had fun even if they were a bit stressed. They still managed to make it a tight contest with only a 10 points range after two rounds.
In the end Jack got highest score, followed by Hector. Peter got in front of Luc at the last minute. Francois had some plane issue so he was not able to fly enough to feel ready. The top 3 pilots got trophies I designed and printed. It is what's called a stick plane used to visualize the maneuvers and it also included a 3D printed stand. The pilots were already talking about the next round at the dome on January 15th :-) If other want to participate, we could probably arrange it. |

Beaucoup de plaisir et de rire! Un grand merci à Xavier pour cette initiative. It is kind of breaking the routine and adding a challenge.
The plastic pieces on the floor are also very useful! |

Sunday Dec 11, 2022 had a very good turnout with 15 WIMAC members in attendance.
If you notice in the photo Xavier placed two rows of plates on the turf. One row for the pilots to stand behind and a second row indicating the fly zone with a 3 to 4 foot buffer zone between the rows. David K. arrived with a UMX Sport Cub-S to experience his first time flying indoors. Raymond B. helped David with the inspection and setup of the new plane. Brian K. has been instructing David to fly this year and Brian's work with David is showing good results. He flew quite well. Xavier put a lot of time, effort and energy into the flying contest he organized. He made score cards and set up plates on the opposite side of the field to indicate the start and end where the maneuvers where to take place. The contest did not interfere with the other planes that were flying the pattern at the same time. At the end of the two hour session at Dome Xavier handed out a 3D printed trophy to the members that participated. A great effort by Xavier. Thanks. Last edited by Jdonald; 2022-12-12 at 03:00 PM. |

Every time I post a photo taken with an iPhone it is upside down. Does anyone know how to get around this issue?
Tried to edit the post and rotate the photo but it is only possible to edit the text. I tried rotating the camera by taking 3 photos. One upright, one sideways to the left and one sideways to the right. Last edited by Jdonald; 2022-12-12 at 02:58 PM. |
