I plan to use the Canada Drone Pilot app in order to fulfill Transport Canada requirements for site surveys, certificates storage, checklists, flight logs, etc. The app is not free and is clearly oriented toward drones but I was thinking using it for both drones and planes.

Did someone at the club write checklists for airplanes that can be imported into the app using the import function? Attached are two checklists that I quickly produced. They can be easily imported into the app. Comments welcome! This is "work in progress". Checklists have not been validated by the the club.

Could be interesting to share checklists although they have to be adapted to your gear (plane type, radio, telemetry, use of kill switch, etc.). Just sharing the checklist items (text) could be interesting even if the app is not used.

Planning to do other checklists for plane post-assembly verification and maiden flights while finalizing the LW-PLA printed plane I started a while ago.

Thanks. The checklists are definitely useful. One small suggested change, where you use the word “assert”, I am sure you mean “ascertain” or possibly “assure”.

I have updated my lists to include my custom F550 drone.

I have merged ideas from two phone apps. I just don't know what to do with the "Radio Range Check" step. Frankly, I don't think members are doing this before each flight. It is something you would primarily do before the maiden flight or when the aircraft electronics or antenna configuration has changed.

Since I have RSSI telemetry data (signal strength on receiver) with an audible alarm on my radio for both my (outdoor) planes and drones, I didn't add the "Radio Range Check" to my flight checklist.

Opinions?
