Happy New Year all,

To follow on the 2022 challenge, we could do it again at the dome. Since we are going twice in January and twice in February, maybe we could use the first visit for more practice and do the challenge on the second visit.

I have updated just a few things from 2022:

It would be part of regular flying with no effect on people who don’t play. It is open to anyone with an indoor airplane that could do the maneuvers in the list below. No registering fees. Just give me your name when you arrive or in this thread. With the experience of the first event, I think that we could go up to 6 participants.

Participants practice as much as they want. I could answer questions and help improve the maneuvers or adjust the planes.
During the second half of the last session of the month, the participants will perform up to 5 maneuvers in the list below. I will be judging and taking note scores.

The scores will be very simple.
O: not done or really ugly or crash.
5: done, recognizable but not great.
10: well done.

Choose maximum 5 maneuvers in the list below and perform them one after the other. Once the pilot has done his 5 maneuvers, he could go at it again. Maximum 3 rounds per pilot. The best round of each pilot count for compilation.

Maneuvers list:
Straight flight, constant altitude for at least 5 sec
Roll (more than 1 sec)
Knife edge for more than 3 sec
Inverted flight for more than 3 sec
Loop (smooth elevator application)
Cobra (up 45 degrees, down 45 degrees)
Outside loop from inverted
Added:
Four points roll
Square loop
Other suggestions ?

I will prepare a video that includes the additional maneuver:
(2022 maneuvers https://youtu.be/29aDYKPER0A )

Time to get on the sim.

If there is interested to practice on the sim online, I could organize something one evening a week using Real Flight. There are many great features on this sim to help learn new tricks.

Bonne année!

Tu peux me compter parmi les participants! J’ai reconstruit mon Clik pour qu’il soit plus léger et précis j’ai bien hâte de le tester.

I will open a session on Monday Jan 9 so we could try some practice.

What is best for you. 7 PM or 8 PM ?

Below are some screen shots if you haven't join the sim online before.
Also a image of the visual help that could be useful.

Xavier -
Please excuse my ignorance: I have RF8 with InterLink-X sim controller -
do we have to download a specific airport (indoor) and/or plane for joining your Multiplayer session ?
Also, do we have to set up Dual rates and expo on the sim?

You only need the basic sim and you select the plane you want.
I will control the field using one that is in the basic sim so there is no conflict for anyone.

Somehow I got dropped from the session and could not get back in - each time I signed in I kept getting the message: " You don't have the required files for the Photofield - you have been dropped from the session"

There were a few technical issues indeed but we learned a few things to make it work better next time.
I am Glad you and Peter had fun and learned something.
See you at the dome Sunday.

We had the second round of the season and the improvement since the first one was impressive. Bravo Luc for the gold stick plane. Dwight was very close for silver and Peter also very close for bronze.
We'll need tougher maneuvers at the end of February :-)

Un grand merci à Xavier pour ton temps et implication, cela fait une grande différence et met beaucoup de piquant dans nos sessions :)

key factors :

No 1 : Quality coaching from Xavier
No 2 : Brand new ''virgin'' Clik 21 shell, still light and straight

If I may suggest, we could have friendly challenges at some point, for example, I would challenge you to fly inverted during a complete battery cycle, no more than 2 feet over the floor ? Maybe later in the season when everybody has warmed up :D

Despite the weather, last Sunday was a great day at the Dome.

Luc for sure had amazing improvement, Félicitations Luc!

Xavier's coaching and investment of his time to help us learn and improve is priceless! I understand that Xavier has also improved his 3D printing skills .. a win-win :-)

The gym will be a fun challenge in itself but maybe we can do some interesting things in the smaller space too.. like perfecting inverted flight :-)

Anyway, one step at a time .. see you soon!
