---------------------------------

Sometimes we need to have our parts delivered in USA for different reasons. Did you find a way to have a postal box or delivery location in a city not too far like Plattsburg? Or do we need to go through a local HS. I would be curious to hear your take on this.

I think this is the closest which I have used a couple of times:

Border Mail Depot - Kinek
102 W. Service Rd

When did you last use them? Someone told me they now check for residence and charge QST if you are a Quebec resident.

Early summer this year.

I have used Shippingshops and crossed back into Ontario. Customs only charges 5% GST for Quebec residents crossing back outside Quebec. For cheaper items, I use Freeport Forwarding in Champlain NY, right across the border going to Plattsburgh. You should register with them over the phone beforehand, as with Shippingshops. They usually charge from US $3 and up depending on the size of the parcel. As for crossing back into Canada, if value is under US $50, customs rarely charge you anything.

I have also shipped directly at the UPS facility on Banker's Road near Plattsburgh. There is a small door on the side of the building with a doorbell. Make sure your ring only once, the lady that works there get mad furious if you ring multiple times. I learnt that the hard way. I rang several time and the truck driver waiting behind me said "I wouldn't do that if I were you".

I have also used http://www.freeportforwarding.com/ since early 70's and they still operate.
They probably the closest to the border, first exit after the Border, then go left then around under the 87, then left and it is on the right. Once you leave them, the entrance back on northbound 87 at the Canadian border!

Wow great response thank you all. I've decided to use the Massana service.

As a next step maybe that we could coordinate pick-ups. I will probably drive there this week once my TowerHobby package is delivered.

I received a bill from Quebec government a few weeks ago for a few things I got thru the border in Cornwall in 2017 ! In addition to the TVQ, there was interest. The letter was also saying that I was supposed to fill a form and if I don't do it next time, there will be a fine.

Sometime we have no choice if it's not available here and the seller won't ship to Canada. It is also sometime very expensive to ship across. www.kinek.comk or Freeport Forwarding in Champlain are a good solution. I have used both.

Ben voyons donc. Pendant que des milliards sont perdus avec l'évasion fiscale le gouvernement s'acharne sur des grenailles comme ça?

A word of CAUTION. Customs does ask if you've received any parcels and they will call Freeport Forwarding which does exchange information with them. Also, make sure to ALWAYS bring a printed receipt with you. All too often, when you order from Amazon or other places, there is no receipt in the package. It happened to me, I had bought a small part for my car ($45) which could not be delivered in Canada. Customs told me to bring it back to Freeport Forwarding because I did not have a receipt. They even went through the trouble of calling FF to see if they were still open, they had their number at hand and knew each other quite well judging from the conversation. I could not access my email from the customs office to find the transaction because Outlook was blocked by their firewall, but luckily I had paid with Paypal which I could access and was able to furnish proof of the amount I paid. A lot of wasted time and unnecessary aggravation.
