Hi Everyone

I am new to this forum & recently moved here. Looking to connect with fellow aircraft/drone builders & flying enthusiasts

In the video you can see my Quad yawing (but not toppling) if i switch off 1 motor.

Would it be more stable if you switched off 2 motors instead 1?

My flight control system automatically handles switching motors on & off.
I just switch off 1 motor and it decides what best to do.. (Which almost invariably involves shutting off the alternate motor)

With two motors on a quad, you lose an independent means of yaw control, dont you?

Sounds logical - since the 2 motors diametrically opposed are running in the same direction, what we see in the video is what you would expect. Even if it hits the ground a little hard in an uncontrolled way while spinning (yawing), at least it does not tip over and accelerate into the ground (ouch!)

BTW Srinath, if you live not too far from our Field in Pierrefonds, you are welcome to come and check out our club when the floods dry out a bit. If so, best to post first to announce when you would like to come to ensure some members are there and the access road is open.

Yes you do lose yaw control on a quad.
If you had a hex or higher and lose a motor, you can still retain some level of yaw control

Excellent - we just have to be patient with the floods until NavCanada has lifted the NO FLY NOTAM which applies to many Quebec RC clubs, including ours:

Also, please note that anyone planning to fly at our Club must have an active MAAC membership (as with all MAAC affiliated RC clubs) .
For visitors who are not members of WIMAC we normally allow one or two visits to fly as long as WIMAC member(s) are present.
