Just thought i would post something to test out the
new forums.
How does everybody like it?
As far as I am concerned it works fine.
Pat
So far I haven't found any problems, you should now be able to modify user profiles from the "Admin" link at the bottom of the forum pages. :Dancing_biggrin:
I haven't customized the look of the forum at all yet, haven't read the documentation yet.

I guess I must have missed something ... Junior Member?
I guess I must have missed something ... Junior Member?
I knew someone would get confused with that title. It is a title representing the number of posts you have made. As the number of posts you make increases, you change to different titles.
The WIMAC specific titles will override these, of course.

Why did my title change? Did you do it Greg?
Why did my title change? Did you do it Greg?
Yes. You are now flagged as "Paid", which automatically puts you in the "Club Member" usergroup and you've been flagged as a Director, which overrides that.

how do you get to post a picture of yourself, like Paul did
how do you get to post a picture of yourself, like Paul did
Everything regarding your settings are found under "User CP" (User Control Panel) at the top in the navigation bar.
The particular link you want to use, where you can upload your own image icons at the bottom of the page:
http://www.wimac.org/forum/profile.php?do=editavatar
You can also have a "Profile Image", which is visible when another member views your public profile information.

Will we have the same rule as the previous web site where the picture should be an actual one of ourselves, or will posting one of those on the profile sufise and we can go kookoo in the forums ?
:wacky:

You'll never see my ugly face in any forum or profile. The rule has been thrown out the window.

Is the size of the avatar section fixed or could we reduce it some in order to keep the number of pages per thread to a minimum ?
I've set the Avatar limits to around 150x300 pixels. The Thread Nazi has the ability to put a stop to any non-sense.

Not what I meant. You'll notice this reply is just two lines long, yet it takes up almost a quarter of the page. Can you reduce the size of the portion with the avatars, member name and info ?
No, stop posting one liners. :freakedout:

Errr, did we actually get 63 users online ALL at once?! The first page appears to say so, which is pretty darn impressive considering that rccanada's record is 82 users online in 2003!

I really like the new format.
You've done a great job.
As for me in regards to Eric's comment
"Not what I meant. You'll notice this reply is just two lines long, yet it takes up almost a quarter of the page. Can you reduce the size of the portion with the avatars, member name and info ?"(ERic Marchand)
I should have no problem filling the space since I tend to go on a bit.
Again well done

There are two types of pictures you can use.
First is Avatar picture, which appears in each message you post.
Second is a Profile picture, that appears when someone clicks on your Profile or user-id.

I must admit, that once you post one picture, then it is really easy to post others, but not only that, if you download 2 or 3 pics at the same time, it goes to another page where you can put comments on each picture. Must faster than before on the old system. Greg, Thank you for a great job, and I see every time I log in, there is something new. Now also the members list is showing. Great, great, great, site. and Thanks, it must be taking you a great amount of time. Much appreciated. If there was an award for the best Club Wed Site. WIMAC would definetely win it.

Hi Paul,
Anyone is free to register on the website, for example, to participate in the open discussions, buy/sell from Classifieds, Upload/Download pictures, etc. WIMAC club members, who have paid, get access to the WIMAC only areas (private forums).
If you've made a payment to Patrick already, and haven't been given access to these areas by the end of this week, let him know.
