Hi all!
I thought some of you might be interested in attending a screening of the 1971 film VON RICHTHOFEN & BROWN by Roger Corman. I run a film society that exclusively screens films on 16mm and 35mm and I managed to secure a beautiful print for this Sunday's event. The time is 6:30 pm. The date is April 22 which is almost 100 years to the day since Von Richthofen was shot down by Canadian air ace Roy Brown (April 21, 1918) The venue is the VA-114 cinema at Concordia University in downtown Montreal (near two major metro stations and free parking after 6pm) 1395 boul. René-Lévesque, corner Crescent st.
This thrilling film is known for its breath-taking scenes of aerial 'dogfights' between German and allied forces and look great up on the big screen. And there are plenty of 'dogfights' in this one.
You can learn more about the event here:
https://www.facebook.com/events/157988958216339/
or here: http://www.cineclubfilmsociety.com/
If anyone wants to bring along a WW1 replica aircraft for display, I think it would be most appreciated by the audience. (and it would get you and a friend free admission, coffee, tea and desserts)
I hope some of you will want to take advantage of this rare opportunity!
Cheers
Philippe
