Hi Folks,

My name is Stas and I am a 48 year old father of two and a mechanical engineer by trade. I am new to the hobby of RC flying. I currently have 4 electric powered foam airplanes (I purchased them in 2013-2014 when the exchange rate was still good). I have a few flights under my belt, however not always successful. However, I have managed not to destroy any of the planes yet. I decided that this year I would join a club to fly in a safe and pleasant environment. The new regulations had some influence in my decision, and made it seem like the timing was right.
I contacted the email on the website and was amazed how quickly I got several responses inviting me to come and visit the club. I joined MAAC and got my number a few days ago and I am waiting to get my card.
I look forward to visiting the field and meeting several of you. I also look forward to being a part of this community filled with a great deal of enthusiastic pilots! I know it will be a very positive experience and I think I will learn a lot about the hobby. I also look forward to joining the club (if all works out). I will definitely be seeing you in the month of April.

Regards,

Stas K

Hi Stas,

You're more than welcome to come out before April to see and talk to the members and experience some winter flying on skis, we have a shelter which is heated. Monitor the field roll call on weekends which is the best time to come as there will be members there if the weather is nice.
