Does anyone have any idea what is needed to hook up lights on a plane.
I have a Dynam DHC-2 Beaver that has lights on the wings both on tips and center and no instruction on how to hook up. They provide the wire and that's about it. Nothing on the net either. They are not necessary to fly the plane but would look good if hooked up.

here is an instructional video how to build it and they mention to connect the LEDs to a spare channel, so the LEDS work on the 5 volts but LEDS are not like bulbs so if they don't light up just reverse the wires.

Thanks Kevin, I saw that video but it still leaves me a little in the dark. I will try to sloder the leads to a spare and try it in the receiver. Hopfully it won't blow it. First though I'll try to connect direct to the batt.

Most Dynam manual are very poor in explication and pic... at less their models are sharp... They should include their navigation lights set ready to be plug...Personally, I have never fix or used led lights on my foam models because of 2 issues. No1: The possibility of a spark or worst from a bad led light or factory soldering . No2: They are hard to see at far distance or during a nice sunny days... But still they give a real scale look statically and on the run way:)

Don't forget if it's design to be hooked up to a spare channel which has 5 volts so if your battery(Lipo?) is 7.4v it might be too much?

I see what you mean. The required battery is a 4c 2200 14.8 volt 25c so it definately would have to have a resistor to bring it down before plugging it in.

Is this item was in the Beaver box https://www.motionrc.com/products/dynam-airplane-led-controller-dy-1030#reviews-tab

Hi Richard,

No this item was not in the box however there was one similar that was connected to the ESC. I brought it Peter at Ted's and he said it was a resistor but why it was connected to the ESC was a puzzle.

It's easyer this way, ESC and a harness..no extra stuff to buy. Some peoples like to use a separate UBEC in combo with a ESC in their models when they run on 4 cell and more. It's safer for EDF jet. But that's not the case here, great work:)
