Hey Michael put one on top and the other on the bottom this way it's a year round plane:D

:D:D:D Thought about it, couldn't decide on if the Skis go on top or bottom.
If I put wheels on top then it would become a real tail dragged.

Better late than never - here are my just completed DIY skis.
They were based on the design shown at:
http://www.stefanv.com/rcstuff/skis.html
with minor mods.
I first tried making the ski bases out of Formica - no good - the Formica at RenoDepot was perhaps was too thin and every time I tried heating the formica (even gently) to bend the tips, the shiny side cracked:mad:
I happened to have some scrap aluminum sheeting - works great! The spine was made from 1/8" Spruce + brass tubing (Ted's) for attaching to the undercarriage. The ground test was done on the rather uneven snow in my backyard - worked well :D
Next will be the real test - a landing at the WIMAC field:rolleyes:
Oops - tried editing using better photos, but could not add any!? Double checked the size which was way under the max:confused:

They look great, good job, now you'll master ground control and landing in different types of snow; deep powder, wet & sticky, hard packed, ice. Etc....:):)
