Sorry a new thread on the Harvard, can't help it:o
While I was takin out the gear door to fix it I head something fall in the upside down cockpit green house. It was a little screw I figured out it was for the retracts I think the up line.
These "horreur" gas engine will vibrate just about anything off.
So anyways I'm trying to figure a better way to attache the gear door.

Dan & me are breaking this silence;)
Most of the week I've been searching for a better method to hook up those doors. Finally figured a better way, as you can see that even the RH door was starting to break the glue joint.
I used a threaded hook for a pull pull system as I don't have enough room to use 2 ball links. Everything works ok just have to put some locktite and do the final tweaking and painting.

Thanks guys,
For the vroom vroom we'll need better weather:rolleyes:
Actually yesterday was kind of great for flying(anyone went?) but also perfect to cut and tie up shrubs and get the outside ready for winter.

So today I finalized the gear door adjustment and painted the doors. I also changed the muffler gasket as the other one leaked(those smelly dirty engines:mad:)
I wanted to test the lights as they were quite dim when I flew the plane and the reason was simple one of the 6 AA cell leaked giving me a total of about 5v.
So I setup the plane in the shop and tried with a 2S lipo and a 3S lipo. It is pretty close of course it's brighter in 3S but the red & green nav. lights get hot which might melt the plastic colored lens but should cooled while flying.

Are they LED lights?

Are they LED lights?
No they are reg. bulbs from RAM. I already had them and bulbs have over 180° diffusion as LED have narrow beams, so not seen from the sides, although they are getting better.

Looked in my old Lipo metal box and found this 2S Kokam it was perfect for the lights as it doesn't pull a lot of watts. So put back together the Harvard to let it rest for the winter unless there is a perfect WE with 15km NW winds:confused: In the spring I might push forward the 2 lb dumbbell I still got about 2" more room because I have to put a lot of down trim, or put a 3 lb dumbbell which I would hate to do.
BTW I saw a little video suggested by the weather network site how to clean head light on car and since I use Arm & hammer toothpaste I tried it and it worked great.
