Since Autumn as drop on us today took apart the planes landing gear to repair the fairing but found more trouble. The landing gear plate backed up on one side so it pulled the carbon rod out of the front former and also it split a little in the middle.

Will have to remove the Ultracote to do the repair, not a terribly big job but just a pain. With hindsight I should of lifted the flaps a bit might have glided a bit more, but it all happened so fast took me a while to figure there was no power the prop was turning but slow.

What is your setup on the ESC for the voltage cut off?? I had the same problem with my Extra when it was electric, had the soft cut off set at 3.2v almost crashed from lost of power, it's easy to bring the voltage bellow 3.2v at the end of a flight. On my set up now i disable the voltage cut off, I'd ratter damage a battery then the plane. You should install telemetry with an alarm that beeps when a cell gets under a certain voltage.

Tout le problème vient de la traction électrique...

OK you gas guzzlers be nice:D

The problem is that 3DHS has very light plywood that delaminates very easily. I'll show you in a pic later on so I'll have to sandwich some ply on the H frame landing gear bracket and I'll do it on the Bigfoot #2 also when I get to that.

I'll check the ESC tomorrow Michel but as you told me before that's the setup I use.

You can see the H frame from the new kit and the doublers. As you can see the ply split or delaminated all the way. So installed them plus glued the carbon rod and installed a piece of ply on the other side, hard to reach,no pic.

Ok the epoxy has dried overnight so I redid the sheeting also reinforced the fairing where it bent, now taking a break and will re cover with the white Ultracote.

BTW Dan when you use a little CA with the wood glue you don't need all those needles:D

Ok did the covering and after much drilling to enlarge the hole in the landing gear and a bit of bending(one of the fairing was rubbing hard on the fuse side) she's back on her feet.

Now just need to order some props from Pro-rc.

Nice job Kevin, rainy days makes for repair times!
Tried to start my Beaver, doesn't want to go, think it's a fuel problem.

you were talking about getting a kit but couldn't find one and you posted some pictures of it. Maybe you don't have one but you were talking about it.
I will try and find the thread.

Ok Michel I finally check and it was setup for "reduce power" so I reset it to "Ignore".

I checked the lipo and the voltage now is around 3,64v up from 3.54v. I didn't do anything with it yet just let it rest, it's now that puffed up.

If it puffed up now I would put it outside

That't good because I don't want you to start a thread about house renovations.;)
