Well I guess it my calling to do repairs. Did a stall on landing and maybe because it was in the grass side of the runway it had a lot of resistance to the landing gear.

So I took apart the broken pieces. I started tracing a new gear plate it will be done with a 1/16 and 1/8 ply sandwich together. There is also the back former I will have to do in 1/8. There is 2 carbon rods that go through the 3 formers and the carbon channel, I will have to find replacements.

Tonight I made some part to replace the missing pieces in former #3 I will also splice or sandwich those with thin ply to re-enforce it. Started making a template for the missing side pieces.

I also decided to keep the landing gear support since the parts fitted almost perfectly, so I glued it.

Ok fingers full of epoxy and trying to fit in all the clamps it is ready to set up overnight. I used wood dowel to replace the carbon ones; about the same weight.

From working on this plane I can see that to save weight they used very light plywood which un-sandwhich very easily. No wonder it broke so easily. But it flies great:cool:

That's a lot of clamps,

If you some carbon fiber cloth I have a big sheet of it.

Toutes les problèmes sont a cause de propulsion électrique.

:D That could happen with any kind of electric ignition too...;)

Non non c'était le vent ou la radio......ah OK ....c'est juste des dum thumbs (pouces stupides) du début de saison:rolleyes:

I couldn't put as many clamps as I wanted too, not enough room

Thanks for the offer Michael but I have some too, remember I have to do a lot of repairs;)

Nice work, how do you blend in the new covering with the existing one.

Installed the covering, of course it's not as nice as a new installation. In the back the new one overlaps the old one and in the sides the old one overlaps the new one. Also installed the landing gear and fiber-glassed the cracks in the wheel pants. Now just have to reassemble the wheels the cowl and the new prop.

When I did the re-maiden when I pulled on the velcro straps for the lipo part of the floor where the strap goes through got broken so I fixed that tonight. So it will be ready for tomorrow.

Luckily you found that out on the ground, wouldn't want that battery flopping around inside the fuselage.

Had the same problem with mine, when you pull on those strap to secure the battery the wood brakes. I guess when you want something light you need to sacrifice somewhere.
