Hello everybody;
What a bad and painful experience!
Sixteen stitches and a broken distal phalange bone in my pinky finger goes to prove that anybody can get seriously hurt even with relatively small propellers.
Nobody should adjust engines from the front; -NOBODY-; as it takes just a split second distraction to be injured.
Start the engine then take the extra five seconds to move to the back and adjust the carburetor!
I will be posting warning signs at all starting stations to remind all members of this real danger.
Thank you guys for your help, support and all the calls that I received yesterday.
Daniel

It makes no difference if you sanded or not. If that prop is hungry it will jump up and eat you.

Sorry to hear about this. I haven't been to hospital for this yet but I do have scars on my hand from previous brain freezes. I know that at least two of the other replies have been from people with bad memories of incidents like this. Get well soon. Be careful, everyone.

It is good idea to sand off the razor sharp edges from your props.
It does and will make a difference, a cut verses a sever.
I'd rather be hit with a dull butter knife rather than a spinning razor blade.

What I meant was that damage will be done either way. The thing here is to keep away from them

Daniel, you are a role model for all of us.
I am sorry for this accident. Hope you have recovered.
You set the example by being humble to share your experience will all of us.
For the newcomers: Do not underestimate the power of a propeller.. I have scars of my own, in my case even at idle the prop was able to cause some "damage".

Also remember that electric motors are a danger in your workshop - too easy to hit the throttle. I have started using a low current capacity 12V power supply rather than a battery in my shop - lets the radio and servos work, but won't let the motor spin with much power.
Maintenant je comprends pourquoi tu avais ces pansements!!! Prompt rétablissement et merci du conseil...
