Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a 3D plane for this summer and I was wondering where I could buy a good one. Actually my first choice is a great plane factor 3D or GP edge 540T- and I asked Ted for it.
But there's another guy, a member who works in a hobby store- what his name and phone number, please?
My good question; have you guys ever bought from nitro plane or hobbyzone or http://www.thewingsmaker.com/?
Is there any custom and additional fees?
Your reply would help me a lot
Thanks in advance
Chris

His BigFoot, they are the Canadian distributer of 3dhs, so no custom fees and the transport fees are listed on his web site. Lorne is a good guy to deal with he help me resolve some problems with one of my 3dhs plane. Amazing 3d planes if that's what you are looking for, very light and strong build that will accommodate tons of power.

I go to Ted's, when have a problem I see Peter who is an excellent plane and Heli flyer. Always fixes my problems, especially when it comes to programming some of the stuff. Worth the few pennies more. Also you can in many cases see it before you buy it.

As Michel said my Bigfoot is from them and I also got a 71" AJSlick (like Michel) but that one I got from AJHobby in Toronto and for the shipment on this one I luck out cause it's next to our branch at work and someone brought it to me at the company Xmas party so n/c shipping.
For the Bigfoot I used my Purolator account at work and it cost me 70$, it's was a big box(see pict.).
But for the planes 3DHS is up there as one of the best 3D airplanes.

I agree supporting local HS is good but they do not carry every brand of planes, for 3d; 3dhs and Extreme Flight are amazing air frames light weight and extremely well balanced, they will not do funny things in aggressive 3d moves. You can follow the build threads on RCgroup and you will see all the supporters of these air frames.

At teds, go see him and ask him what you want, even if he does not hold it in stock, if he has access to it, he will order it. He always git me what I wanted.

Just to jump in. For 3d you need something like an Extra or Slick(which is really an Edge) something with mid wing. Then it depends what's your budget that will dictates the size of the plane you can afford.

Like Kevin said, it all depends on how much you want to spend. I'm very happy with 3dhs. Also never owned one but Pilot has a good reputation AMR in boucherville holds a large inventory of them.
P.S. Between the Slick and Edge, I prefer the Edge for the style of flying I like(crazy harrier, Knife edge spin...). the Slick is lager and Is not as aggressive and more stable better for all around for pattern and 3d flying. Will be trying the Extra soon :D:D

Thanks for your advice.
Is there anybody who ever tried buying from Nitroplanes?
How much you pay for customs?
How long it takes?
Is it worth?
