Robinson R44 Crash

Did you all read about the R 44 crashing on Lake of Two Mountains yesterday. A pic of it in Sundays Gazette. It is a total, all lived to tell about it. came in for a landing on the ice, and touched then flew up 50 feet and came down crashing. All were injured in the crash. some seriously.

What I heard is that the pilot was enjoying some low level hovering over the ice for some time, a couple of fishermen were convinced the rotor was eventually going to hit first, but the heli dipped, the landing gear caught, and it flipped.

That is the only problem with the Robinson's, priced the same as a fancy sports car, people with more money then sense can go and fly over our heads.
