Hi guys,I want to share my new project with you. I have not set up a nitro plane in 20 years, so I am also looking for some advice. This is the plane and motor that will be used. The motor is to long so I have to shorten the firewall by 1-3/4 in.

Make sure when you re-install the firewall either do tongue and groove or use dowel pins to re-enforce it. Just gluing it will not hold.

Yes Micheal, that is how the original firewall was instaled. Do you think 2mm carbon fiber rod will be ok for pining it. And how are you fuel proofing the wood.

Not sure about 2mm CF rod, I would use dowel pins.

I don't know what it is about Kevin's old planes but we like to revive them. Hey Hans don't be surprised if they're cursed:D:D You need to learn to tame them:D:D Just fly the "Hell" out of it and don't worry.

The motor is an os ff 2.40 pegasus it was built in 1986, I got it 20 years ago, and have not run it yet. I will go with wood dowels.Do not worry I wiil cast out any demons before I fly.:D:D

I did some reinforcing around the bulkhead, before I glue the firewall back I will have to find and drill the holes for the engine mounting bolts, and install the blind nuts. Some things you just can t do alone. The more I do on the plane, the more excited I am to fly it. Kevin I don't remember the last time I had this much anticipation to fly a plane. Thankyou.

The demons, I think, are roaming around the field just waiting for opportunities:mad:

I had installed a piece of fiberglass on the engine box for safety measure (you could use CF if you have) you put it on with epoxy 30min. with a little bit of alcohol.

I think your right, last month they where hungry. Kevin did you run a 40cc on the cap, and if so what size prop did you run. I have finished the fire wall and will install the motor tomorrow. I have to drill out a prop to 12mm any ideas. Will post more photos when the motor is in.

Yes I had a ZDZ 40cc but it would have been better with a 50cc(like Ray's). I ran a 20x10 prop on it.

Can't wait to ear that engine must be very quiet and scale. I remember Andrew had one and ran it on a test stand, but it's a long time ago.
