Oh god, we are so bored when we cannot go to the field...

I have two planes to build. The "Vanquish" is a plane I had before and loved it.
The other is the Hangar 9 "Katana", like the one Ronald brought to the field. It was love at first sight. Both electric (where is that generator when you need it?)

However, I promised myself I will not build anything before January or this winter is going to be looooong and booooooring! I love the smell of CA in the morning.

Anyhow, Indoor is coming and with it splat, bang, crash, brrrrreak. And beer and smoked meat!

Only 5 months to field day!

Eladio, there are programs to calculate what motor you need and therefore what ESC. You need the weight of the plane. Normally the plane manufacturers give you an idea of both. You also need to determine what space you have for the battery.

I would suggest to see what other have done with airplane about the same size. Since it's not an aerobatic airplane, you should be able to use a very small motor and battery.
I am thinking a Eflite Park 180 with a 2S180mha and very small servo as used on foamies. The power system and servos out of the UMX series of airplanes maybe enough if you want to fly it really slow, light and scale. For both of these package to work, the plane would need to be around 4-5oz max I would think. There must be HK equivalent too.

Looking forward to see pics of it

Hi Xavier !
Yes i would love to fly it really slow , but i think it will be more than 4 or 5 oz. I have a scale ,i will check it wen i advance more. Because i reenforced quite a bit with carbon fiber rods and the landing gear steel rod is just a bit thicker .I like to build it as solid as possible with out compromising to much weight ,but I'm sure there is strong motor for it out there.
Thanks for the info Xavier, i will check that Park 180.
I will post pics on section R/C Projects and Builds. :)
