At the suggestion of Ronald Longtins I bought a ParkZone “Night Vapor” RTF for the upcoming indoor season. With the exceptionally calm weather we had today (Wednesday) I thought it was worth the risk of a test flight at a nearby soccer field….plenty of empty space. Worked out great. Had many flights including very easy take offs from a few feet of asphalt. Landings as always a bit more tricky but still ok so long as the slight breeze stayed steady. Weighing in at less than one ounce (28 grams) including battery even the slightest breath of wind can do interesting things. I flew round a lampost 3 times in succession without trying while trying to get it to fly away. That would have looked impressive if there had been anyone around to be impressed. Battery seems to last for around 10 min and recharges on the portable (AA battery powered) charger in about 15 min. As you can see in the photo I found a way to land…between the goal posts…. with 100% safety and without even touching the ground….now that’s what I call a “safety net”!
