I have one (same model) and it works. Took lots of readings and they seem to make sense. Connectors and push button make it very easy to use.....easier than a regular voltmeter. Its not a complicated device. Not something one uses every day though....but I like having gadgets :-).

If you intend on measuring currents below 75 amps, it will be fine.(I know it's rated to 120 amps DC). If your current measuring needs are higher, you should use a clamp-style ammeter that measures DC current. If you've never used one, make sure to read the instructions, many people use these incorrectly. Here is one example available through Sears:
