Andrew and Michel what was the telemetry system we were talking at the club, do you have a link?

If you are using CC Ice 100 ESC you can get your amp's on the graph so you don't need the second item. You can also get voltage on the graph but it's a total voltage, with this you will get your voltage per cell so you can tell if one cell is not performing well.

That's the one. You need the first link for the unit with the display at a minimum (gives you voltage per cell up to 6S and total voltage), but I recommend also getting the second link so that you can see the instantaneous current and mAh used. I haven't worried about the temperature probe that comes with the current sensor, but could be interesting if you have an unplanned shutoff and are worried about the motor or ESC overheating.
Everyone flying electric should have one of these things.

testing out my telemetry everything is working ok. I haven't soldered connectors yet to see the amp, but later.
I was wandering where to put it on my TX is this ok on the ant.?

Becarefull when you first try it. I was reading the reviews and there is some bad comments of interferences when used with a Futaba radio causing crashes.:(

Coincidentally I ordered the Quanum Telemetry unit from HK last week and received it on Monday. Didn't buy the current/maH monitor option (yet). Seems to work exactly as advertized so far. I monitored the volts, plotted a graph, as my 6S battery discharged.
Mounting the monitor on the Transmitter antenna as per the instructions shouldn't have much effect. (I have a Futaba T6EX). Interference from the Quanum Transmitter into the plane's (very nearby) receiver? None apparent...always a "risk"...but I will try everything with the Futaba transmitter on "power down" mode at the edge of its range just to check a sort of "worst case". Would have to have a lot more technical info than published to know much more.

Just FYI I tried a range test with the main transmitter in "power down" mode at the limit of its control range with and without the Quanum transmitter turned on. Quanum transmitter antenna about one inch from the plane's receiver antenna. No visible effect at any point. I feel more comfortable now!

Thanks Mike, when you say "power down" I suppose you mean in "Range check mode" that's on my 8FG terminology?

You got it Kevin, on the 6ex Power Down mode is the range check.

Yes, the range is reduced to about 30m they say...less in my case by going downstairs and having a few walls in between until things just stop working....communication set up with cell phones. I'm curious as to exactly what Spread Spectrum schemes Futaba uses but little info seems to be available other than generalities. I read somehwere they use a custom combination of DS and FH to provide extra interference tolerance. Also the Quanum transmits data (DS narrow band Spread Spectrum) only 4 times/sec but whether its in 4 very short radio bursts/sec or on a continuous radio signal is not stated (probably the latter). The weather today is not very promising so I'll spend some time searching for info....
The ability to easily set the total volts and cell battery volts alarm on the Quanum is very nice. I wonder if the next version could have a blue tooth link to your cell phone earpiece that gently whispers the volts and maH with appropriate suggestions in your ear so you don't need to take your eyes of the plane at all. Technology is wonderful... and for only a few $$$ more... :-)
