Hi Everyone, Spent some time with you at the Funfly and took a few videos and stills. Was interested to know if the big biplane with U.S. Army markings is scale or semi-scale - sort of looks like a Stearman. And wondering if the Pitts Python went up earlier. The YouTube video is amazing. Also have a few B-W pix of R/C flying in Pierrefonds from 50 yrs. ago. Best wishes & au revoir. Cheers, OJ:)

:)Of course, a Hawk model was probably available way back then - jogged my memory. For some reason, when I type in -U.S. Army biplane- on Google, it comes up with Stearmans and Grummans - like Curtiss never existed. Got some videos of takeoff, flypast and landing (forget the noseover, I have the good one). My cam and video technique are not the greatest - maybe next time will ask for permission to the infield, if I re-activate my MAAC? Cheers -oj

Found an article in Popular Mechanics (Circa 1930) Google Books that a Curtiss V-12 was fitted with a turbocharger (term not coined yet) and made a speed (266mph average) record from Dayton OH to Washington D.C. The only P-6 left is at the air museum outside Dayton. Would like build a model Curtiss Robin, which "Wrong-way" Corrigan flew solo from Brooklyn to Ireland about 10 yrs after Lindbergh. Said he was going to California!!:)
