Ok, Tino and I decided to build a ramp to launch the Funjet and the Dogfighter's, I think that installing it on the outside of the taxiway could be a good place for it, far enough from the pit area and not in the way for landing. Let me know what you guy's think. Should test it one night this week.

Cool, I will try to be there.

Hi Mike,
It might work for the dog fighter but watch it for the fun jet with the torque u have it might not work. I tried a launcher last year but didn't work because of the torque I had, every time I tried to take of it was going to the left

I tried it in the garage and it seemed to go straight, Did you try it inverted on the ramp like the picture. I'll make sure I don't put full throttle at the start.

Tested the ramp last night, no success the plane rolls to the left as you can see on the video. Next step will be to build a type of tray that will slide up the ramp and push the plane upwards, using a bungee cord on the tray and not the plane this way you can use it for different planes. Looking for some feedback any other suggestions.

Dogfighter, increase the lenght of the ramp to increase the speed once the plane leaves the ramp.

It will always vear to the left.
My suggestion is that the ramp should be built with a kind of catapult .
You will then have an initial speed giving you the possibilty to use the rudder to compensate the pitch factor by giving some right rudder.
Why the tail dragger planes have a tendency to turn to the left during take off ?
PITCH FACTOR !
If you need more explanations about the pitch factor them let me know, or better, come see me at the club.

Ok, just bought some bungees. Will make a fixture using two wood blocks around 6" long and drill true them the size of the pipes on the ramp will try to find a plastic bushing so it slides better, then I will attache the two block together but low enough to clear the prop. from there i'll attach a set of bungees from the top to the fixture to propel up and a set from the bottom to the fixture to slow it down at the top. On the two blocks will make a small platform to secure the wings down. Should have time to do it tonight and will test this weekend.

Have you considered hand launching?
I am serious, things were better that way.
They will always pitch to the left, sharp. No matter the method since you need the speed not to crash. How about "aileron right" attached to a switch?
Ronald and Mike found the Dog is much more manageable with a streamer. Maybe the Funjet can use one for take off and then release it.
Know the definition of a pioneer? The guy with all the arrows on his back!

For the dog it's no issue hand launch is no problem but for the Funjet it's an other thing. The jet is over weight and over powered so hand launch is not consistent and always a near crash. On the launch correction with the ailerons is needed for sure and pretty well automatic, also altitude because of the weight it drops fast until it reaches a certain speed. Albert, you want me to give up on my first try??? Plus I have no projects to work on right now so will get this jet to launch properly.

I have a bungee from my Evader if you want to try?

Ready for a second try, just need to finalize the release mechanism, a lot of tension wen the bungees are are pulled down. Should try it one night this week.

How much the plane weights.
You will get a jump start with 30 G
Don't push too far, think about the structure or the flying object it could end unidentifiable crashing object or UCO :D
All I suggest is don't over do it.
Let us know when you go to the field.
Cheers,

What will be the angle of the ramp from the ground level

The Jetapult works great. Power on gradually after initial airspeed is achieved with the cord. This way you avoid the whole torque issue. Simple, easy and reliable.
