re finding an instructor

Well I received my MAAC membership today. I then mailed off my WIMAC this afternoon. I am looking forward to receiving it also in the mail. Anyone want to take a kindred spirit under their wing for instruction so I can get my wings? I have everything. I even have the buddy cable in my box and I do have some flight time in with 7 landings and 5 take offs under guidance of a friend in New Brunswick who gave me the plane and has been flying for 30 years. He is with the club in Saint John NB. I know I am getting ahead of myself, but better to start looking now than reacting after the fact. I am a good learner and listener. and only have open ears for people with greater experience than I. I live in Pierrefonds at the other end near the 13 so getting to the field is not a far stretch for me. Hope to hear from someone. :cool:

Come anytime. Normally there is an instructor around, more so on weekends.
Do not wait until you are sanctified as a member. What radio you got? Brand, model....
What plane? Glow, electric?
You seem to be almost there.

Great! Thanks for the help Dave but I am off to go camping for a bit this weekend and for five days. I will keep in touch with you guys via the WIMAC forum as to when I can make it out. It should be the weekend after though. It is nice to have someone help me. As for my transmitter I have a....and your not going to believe this...Futaba conquest FP T4NBF. I am old school!! The frequency is 72.270. She works great. For now it flies my plane fine and dandy. Man I wish I could make it out this weekend...it bugs me ( boys with toys right)....anyway I will be in touch. I will not wait until I am in the club. Thanks for the advice. :D

No worries, some people still use FM, just be sure to mark the frequency board with your channel before turning on your radio.

I went out to the field today to check it all out and perhaps find an instructor. I found people who were helpful and kind and very giving of their time. I also got alot of great advice about many things. I will be back tomorrow. Hope I can get an instructor lined up....just look for the guy with the big red pick up and the white blue and red trainer. I will not have on the kilt I have in the picture though. :rolleyes: See yall there!!
