Hi Guys My name is Stephan and I just joined the community. I am new to model flying and a friend of mine has set me up with a great trainer. I have spent the winter training on the Clearview flight simulator and with a bit of guidance from my friend Alan, managed to take off, fly some patterns, and land not just once but several times solo first time out at the field. I took off several times too. Not a scratch on the plane in the end too!! I know its just a trainer and some of you guys are more experienced, but what I nice way to begin the hobby. I look forward to chatting on the forum. I also look forward to joining the airfield if I :pcan and I believe being in the Wings program ( if I am not mistaken).

The best way to star in R/C flying: with a mentor. Proof is your flights and the lack of scratches in your plane.
Join WIMAC and the fun is not only flying: the socializing is fantastic and the help, like Mastercard says, "priceless"!

I have a great mentor albeit he is in New Brunswick. He has been flying for over 30 years and has a great data base of technical knowledge and equipment should I get more involved with the hobby. Just a note, I guess I have to get my MAAC number in order to apply for membership right? Once I get the number I place it on the WIMAC form then send it in with the cheque. I will need an instructor at the club once I get registered...have any suggestions? BTW....went to check out the field this morning August 11th and walked to it from the school. Nice set up. I like the fact that the tables are mobile. Should I join I have woodworking skills and could help with any jobs you would like. I was a woodworking teacher and I built all the furniture in my house. Anyway nice seeing the field.

It worked, the sun was out most of the time. The bad weather only started at 17:00

Lots of flights and hamburger and hot god combo.
