Congrats Gilbert, now you are with the big boys. That is a nice plane to start doing Cuban 8's, loops with a roll at the top. outside loops, 4 point rolls, and 8 point rolls. slow rolls. this is the ideal plane for that.

Ultimate has always been one of my favourites. Predictable, easy flier and very aerobatic. None of the weird flying tendencies that I have experienced with some biplanes (although I must admit, I have never flown a biplane of more than seven pounds). Congratulations, Gilbert.

Good memory, David. The Smith was actually pretty good, very stable but not too agile. I had another two biplanes (I can't remember the names, one of them may have been a Jungmann?) which were difficult to fly, a lot of drag, sudden stalls, and they seemed to have minds of their own at middle speed. I have flown another fellow's Ultimate (Goldberg kit) and found it to fly much like a Cap or Extra.
I love the look of a biplane in flight. I find that, though I have no particular problems controlling them, I often get disoriented as to the attitude of one I am watching as a spectator.
