If you go to the club this weekend, bring your water boots.
The place is very wet. The pit area is half flooded and the pilot stations are soaked.
Saturday will be a nice flying day.
Enjoy.

Greetings!
I will be a new member next year with my 2 sons and wanted to know if any members have used the WiMAC field during the winter months or is it closed until spring?
I am upgrading my 20 year old Carl Goldberg Eagle 2 with a new engine including a new Futuba 2.4ghz receiver along with getting my 2 sons for xmas a Hobbico Nexstar ARF complete with .46 OS LAX and Futuba 6 channel receiver.
The boys are practicing their skills using RealFlight 4.5 on the computer
Last time if flown my plane I was 19, and stored the plane in my basement ever since. Now my sons have been bugging me to fly it since they have recently discovered it in my new home.
Looking forward in re-visiting my childhood hobby with my sons.
I have been told that you all practice your passion indoors during winter months at Charlemagne - we might come by in the winter months to attend.
Looking forward to next year's season - hoping that there will be some instructor's that will be patient enough to bring me back up to speed after 20 years and getting my son's comfortable with this passion. Ultimately, I would like to become independant at the field (solo/instructor) to spend time with my sons and show them the right techniques for them to become solo.
Regards,
Francis Paul

Thanks Tarek,
So I am assuming that the road access to the field, airstrip & parking is regularly cleared from snow?

Francis

Yes we have a snow removal contract that clears the snow off the road and parking areas. The airstrip is not cleared, we use skis on the planes.
Also some member have 4 x 4's that leave the tire tracks to follow.

During the winter, field roll call is a important tool to be use. The clubs have no address to give for emergency truck for a battery boost, a tow or worst. Use it because we dont want to have to move a frozen corps blocking the run way:hmm: because usely, we just shovel the boddy on the side of the run way until the spring... so take care
