Hello everyone, I'm new here.

Does anyone have a helicopter rig set up to carry a camera on board with it? I am working on a music video project and found my way to this forum because I was looking for DIY methods of aerial camera work. After considering everything from balloons to trying to achieve a similar look from a downtown high rise- RC helicopters came to mind. I was lucky enough to find such a well developed community nearby.

The music video is for a McGill anthem adapted to the tune of Empire State of Mind. We are not professionals, but do have a budget to work with so we could compensate you for costs. We are looking for somebody to help us capture HD video aerial shots of McGill campus with their helicopter rig to be included in our video. This may be a long shot, but any guidance, suggestions, or help would be very much appreciated.

You can hear the song here: McGill State of Mind Lyrics Video + Full Song by Trippy Yang ft. Aiza - YouTube

Try Jeffrey: http://www.heliophoto.ca/

Note that MAAC would probably not cover such an activity so whomever you find to do this, should have some good personal or business insurance.

You are right on Xed. That's why I don't voluteer my services outside of WIMAC.
Even If I did had insurance for such purposes I will need a commercial licence from Mikrokopter.de/

Cheers

I think there are little companies that do that. I remember in the U2 concert there was a guy with a 8-copter filming from very very high...... the police was closeby and nobody said anything..... they were taking aerial pictures..... and there were thousand of people that day..... the 8-copter was flying above everybody and landed very nicely next to the pilot.... but no idea whose company that was.... I might think that a 6 or 8 copter is less dangerous than a helicopter and it has less vibration as well...... but not sure I do not know anything about 6-8 copters...
