Just go with mid timming you cant go wrong there.
When you find the specs on the motors you should know what timming to use.

Mid timing to start, your PWM rate is more of an issue on higher kV motors used in EDF applications:
(Voltage x kV x #of magnetic poles)/20 = XX XXX(Choose PWM closest to result)
Example:
(14.8 volts x 2600 kV x 6 magnetic poles)/20 = 11544
So I would set my PWM to 12 kHz
To find your magnetic poles just count the number of magnets on the motor bell if it's an outrunner, or refer to manufacturer's listing if it's an inrunner with limited accessibility.

It would also be best to list your setup so we can better assist you, with the endless motor and esc combinations it would be impossible to give you a definitive answer. Recently, one of our members was unable to get a twin ducted fan setup to work correctly, upon inspection, his $20 80 Amp speed controls weren't up to the task of spinning a 3000 kV inrunner at 5s voltages. It would intermittently lose synchronization with motor, no combination of timing or switching rate would remedy the problem. Advised him to replace the esc's with Castle variants and problem disappeared. Your setup is a crucial piece of information that will shed some light on settings.

Thanks Rich, well I am in the deap ... because I use two ESC "Turnigy trust 55A" and two 28-40-2800KV on a 70mm 6 blade. the juice will be on 4cell and 5cell. Probably not enough power:o maiden this week end
