Hello
New member on this forum and hopefully soon new member of WIMAC.
Alway wanted to do this and at 57 it is about time.
Only thing I fly is an indoor RC copter Blade CX3 (not very good)
While my wife was not looking, I bought an Electric Plane
It's a HOBBICO SKYFLY max.

Is this be good enough to start at the club?
Thanks and best regards
Francois

François said that he already bought it...
I have one like that that I bought for FPV.
Right now, I lent it to my father in law which is coming into the hobby.
I first lent him my simulator and last weekend, he flew the real plane like if he did that since a couple months.
With the wind, I would say that the motor could be a bit stronger but it flew very easily.
The reading on the wattmeter with a 3s 1800mah 20-30C and the stock prop was 36 amps and the esc is only a 25... After the flight, it was just a bit warm and same for the battery.
So YES, it's good enough to start.

Thanks Michel
Like your father in law, I will start by practicing on a similator.

Practicing on a similator is a very good idea, add a little bit of wind when you get comfortable.

Yes on simulator it is always good to add some wind but also go hard on gust. Add more than you think is fair.
Most plane can take wind easily but the gust can be fatal. Also try to land cross wind because in real life the wind is never exactly align with the runway.
Have fun.

Did some simulator and I think I have developped good reflexes.
There are a couple Pulse XT 40 (Hangar 9) for sale on Kijiji. Would that be a good buy?

Couple hours on the simulator and think I acquired the good reflexes. I can now fly around and land with out crashing.
Also now a member of MAAC. Guest my next step will be to visit the club.
