Dx8 way to many issues, dx7 and 9503 very solid and proven radios. I love my dx7.

Yes the 9503 is better. But bang for buck the dx7 wins hands down more then enough features. I bought the kit with servos and receiver and sold the servos to make my deal even better. Ended up paying 240$ for the dx7 and ar7000, so if you minus the cost of the receiver the dx7 comes to 130$. Brand new. How can you beat that?

Yup I also agree , cant beat the price for the quality of the DX7.
If you dont need more then 7 channel then go with the DX7 for shure.

Hi,
JR 9503 is a very solid TX and I think it's better than any Spectrum but better than both of these has to be the Futaba 10CHG. It's one of the fastest radios available on the market after Airtronics.

I agree 100% with David not only because I have the 10 c, but the 8 Fgh is the newer Futaba radio it's updateable and since the last update it has become a 10 channel radio it has the identical features and has actually even more than the 10 c. It comes with a micro sd card and can be updated in minutes last but not least it's the more modern design and it's cheaper then the 10 c. But the 10 c can be found sometimes for a real good deal not so with the 8 fgh. Nevertheless they are great radios and do not have any know issues.

Talking about features is one thing. Every 7ch or 8 ch will do anything we need (mostly, unless you are into big stuff and scale.)
My reasoning for getting nothing less than a 9ch is that I just can't stand the cheap feeling of the lesser channel TX's.
The DX7 is awesome for the money and features but sorry for saying this, it feels like crap. Just plastic, no weight comparing to the solid metal feeling of my 9503 and the gimbals just don't compare.
So yes, a 7ch will definitely fit your needs, but also try to get what feels better in your hands. That is the main component of your hobby. Don't cut cost on this. !!!
I personally prefer the 9503 as opposed to futaba for 2 reasons. I like my all in one screen display ( I can't stand the fact that you have to switch to other screens in futaba to access further options) and there are a lot more receiver options.( spektrum )
However, futaba tends to offer some more features with easier programming options.
My suggestion above all is to get what feels right to you. The rest comes after.

Maybe you should googel spectrum receiver problems..., anyway that said JR will be leaving Spectrum and developing their own system or already have. Spectrum Radios can be converted.

Personally I wouldn't want to spend 420$ more to have a radio that's heavier and might look and feel more expensive. The only thing I want to do to my Dx7 is install the gimble bearing kit when my gimbles start to not feel as good as when I bought it. The dx7 for your 550e is more then enough.
