That was just dumb fingers... Pilot beyond his flying skills.
And second crash = flying with the wind and lost lift.

First video: couldn't follow the jet either but... got to see a gorgeous flying field.
Second: Diffidently: "About $ 20,000"....
Mick: can you fly the first one on FPV?

I liked the comment about $20,000 too. The other thing that struck me was that the crash seemed to ignite very dry grass and noone ran to put out the fire.
Years ago, one of our members fired little Estes rockets mounted under his plane's wings as missiles. One of them did ignite dry grass in our outfield and those of us watching ran to stamp it out before it could spread. ( By the way, firing uncontrolled missiles from your plane is a really dumb thing to do and I believe not permitted under MAAC rules.)

That jet was definatly not 20000$ it was a harpoon jet plus turbine and electronics. Depends on turbines it would cost a max of 8000-10000$ thats why its a "Trainer" lol.
These guys are more in the 20k range. In the Video you can also see what can happen after a jetcrash fire wise. YouTube - RC Jet crash

O.K., he is fast, but there is no doubt that if you put a whole lot of power on a slippery enough airframe you are going to blast along. I have to admit that I find the gliders running the dynamic slope soaring more impressive. The Feb'11 issue of FlyRC had an article describing the new world record of 446mph (not km/h) - beat the previous record of 445mph (that must have annoyed the previous record holder). They run in 500 ft diameter circles, each of which takes somewhere around 3 seconds.
There is a video of this at http://www.flyrc.com/021104. For some reason the video title is of "only" 392mph. Guess it was a slow run.
