Yes it makes easier to go retrieve your Plane or Heli if it goes down out in the field or woods. I have a pair similar to the ones below, light weight and easy to put on.

The biggest advantage of wearing them when going to retrieve a plane is that you don't leave big and dangerous holes in the runway.
Perhaps WIMAC should buy a pair for the "Frozen crew" to use.
