The new indoor flying season starts on Tuesday, 12 January - for details, location and directions please see the WIMAC home page. We invite all WIMAC members and non-members to fly (provided you have MAAC membership) or just to watch and admire the skilled and not so skilled pilots. It is a great way to meet the club members and join if you wish.
Ultra-light planes such as the Click or small helis up to 450 size are ideal. Learning to fly indoors is not recommended unless you start with an ultra-stable twin rotor heli or a "Flying Toy" style aeroplane. It is generally too busy and too confined to provide any instruction. We will operate a timed slot system as previous years controlled by the famous clock and coloured clothes-pegs.
Fixed-wing and rotors will alternate to start with and we will adjust the slots depending on the relative proportion of fixed wing to helis that show up to fly. Depending upon numbers you should be able to take 2 pegs and therefore get up to 4 slots per hour. We will try to ensure everybody gets a fair share of the time available.
If, as in previous years, a number of people would like to go to supper afterwards I suggest we try Moe's Deli And Bar, 940, St Jean (corner Brunswick), West Island, Québec, H9R 5N8.
Can you please indicate, via the poll, if you are interested in flying, if so plane or heli with or without supper so we can get an indication of numbers. See you on the 12th.
