High Flyers!

After a couple of visits to the WIMAC airfield this summer where I saw some great flying and felt welcomed by all of the members there, I finally signed up. So I'm happy to join you all!

I have a fixed wing trainer -Hobbico Cessna 172- and was going to buy the First Flight simulator package but someone at the airfield very kindly told me about an online simulator - sorry don't remember his name. But if anyone has that info it'd be great to see it!

Thanks and once again, great to join a great club with great members!

Welcome David.

I haven't used an online simulator, but there are a number of inexpensive sims available. FMS is free, and ClearView is US$40. For both you need an interface - search on ebay for "FMS interface" and you will find plenty. Past that, FSOne is about C$110 with the controller. Any of these will save you plenty in repair costs and aggravation.

Hi Andrew

Big thank you for taking moment to pass on your savvy on sims! I'll certainly look into both FMS AND FSOne!

I've got a basic "one model" (Nexstar) Real Flight sim with the kit I bought but I'm thinking rotary wing in the future and would like more flexibility. Anyway thanks for the good word!

Thanks for your welcome Denis.

I've been enjoying the heli pics on our site and came across another heli site last night with origins in France. It is not a "tech" site but has really nice pics of scale helis. Enjoy if you haven't been there yet! I'll post a new thread about it.
