Hi everyone,

I have a 3-lb prototype plane, which is my university project, need to test out very soon but I do not have any experience of flying RC. Therefore, I would like to find a rc-pilot who want to do the test flight for me. is there any pilot can help on monday or tusday?

Thank you

yeah,, it is a conventional plane for SAE aero-cargo .

That's a lot smaller than the last aero-cargo I saw a few years back from the Concordia university. It was about 12 feet with a OS61 and weighted 35lbs I think with the load (see picture).

What is the wing loading of this one ? What motor ? How much weight are you expecting to lift ?

I always regreted that my University didn't have any SAE projects when I was there. A few years later they had the cargo, the baja, the other car, etc. I would have like to help but I am not 100% sure I could be at the field Tomorrow or Thursday.

I hope someone else could help you. However, as with any other new models coming to the field, it will have to be inspected by the pilot before flying and only if it is found safe, it will be flown.

Here is the one I flew for McGill back in 86 I beleive, we flew in Warrensburg Missourie, and we came in third with 21 lbs.
We were actually first but thats a long story

Yup I was much younger then :D

As Paul was telling me, the tail seems to be very small and with a short moment on your plane CYL. I am not sure about the CG location either with the short tail and the relatively long nose and the weight of the engine and 'payload'. Have you done all the calculations ?

With Paul and Xavier
You will have longitudinal stability problems.
Either increase the tail moment or/and the horizontal tail area.

yeah,, the tail was a bit small, that's why the plane has been modified and the tail now is about 3 time bigger than before. and the cg is about 1 in behind the AC point
