Jimmy I downloaded the manual and got lots of full scale pictures :D
Not too bad, I already saw the area you were worried about at the boom mount hold point, there are parts with the fuselage that will go there for the belt.
Going to need some green tint for upper windows :D

That is a good sign,
Paul will have a model helicopter to built
over the next year I see.
She shure will be a fantastic machine when Paul will be over with it.
Are you going all the way in the scale MANIA style Buddy?
Shure hope so with that one.
Have fun with the built !!!

Here are some pictures of the kit. The tail of the fuselage is structural so the there is no need for a tail boom.
The kit includes lots of scale parts as well as a cockpit. I’m not sure there are decals for the cockpit I still have to go through the parts bag.
It looks like it’s going to be an interesting build for someone. :D

Sorry guys I guess I spoke too soon.
Been too carefull sometimes is no good.
I was trying to touch up some inperfections with a paint brush and I spilled the thinner on the canopy. Well you know the results.
Back to the beggining again
Oh well thats how we learned. Keep thinners away from your work area.
Cheers

2009-06-01, 02:12 PM
Thats good because the way the weather is these days I could do a bit on it when I feel like it.
I dont think I would need the mechanic for a while anyway, that you will have time to play with this summer for shure. :D
I dont mind picking it up one evening this week if you want, even today I could what ever time you want :D

Here it is guys just picked it up from Jimmy the TT UH-1Y Venom ,mechanic will be the Raptor E620.
Not shure how much will be done on it this summer as I usually build during winter but I will most likely do some stuff on it :D
Here are the first pictures, one thing I noticed is that there are lots of pieces  to keep me busy.:D
Picture also showing my AS355N TT beside it ,its not as bulky but its shure is nice. :D
Hours of pleasure :spin:

Looking good! Is the fuselage stay military gray or do you plan on painting-it?
PaulG-rc
2009-06-02, 04:19 PM
Denis if it was mine I would paint it Canadian SAR yellow and red ,I'm shure Jimmy would like that too but since its not mine I would be worried to goof it up . It does look real good and with all the details and weathering it should look even better :D
I got the candy green paint this morning and tested it on scrap plastic and its perfect, that will be to paint the top cockpit windows.
I wish I could find the color codes for their Yellow and red colors for SAR.
Its early summer so I could setup in the garage to paint so its a possibility. :D

That is a shure good looking machine.
It look like it is a little smaller then your Ecureuil Paul.
I thought it was much of the Ecureuil size,,,
But still looking very nice on the detail's ...

Yellow and red sound very nice. I think it would look real good with the SAR color scheme. It’s up to you Paul it will be more work.

That is,
for shure a good colorscheme as type goes.
You'll have plenty of time to make-up your minds guy's.
Do you think it will be near,
the 10lbs mark on that heli as weight goes Buddy?
PaulG-rc
2009-06-04, 07:23 AM
Yes most likely as this is a 50-60 size heli mechanism.
The fuselage is smaller but with lots of metal and wood parts.
Since the mechanism wont have the boom required boom support and fins,it probably wont go over 10lbs

Hwy Paul that looks nice. This is the Bell 412. Are you going to use 4 blades or two?
Cheers
PaulG-rc
2009-06-07, 09:46 AM
Well thats Jim's decision as its his fuselage of the TT Uh-1Y Venom marine version of the 412.
I dont think I would want to overload the system on a small heli like that with a 4 blade, on RunRyder one has done it and it does overheat,to be expected.
I finally got the FS color codes for the Red and Yellow on Scale RC Heli :D

It should :D when you mention about the visibility for you with the original color it got me really thinking and this is the solution for shure.
It shouldn't be too bad as its 85% yellow and 15% red and some black so the trimming shouldn't be a problem as for the marking that will take me more work.
Are you going to the field today Jim?

2009-06-07, 11:28 AM
Yea Jim are you going. I will bring the engine just in case.

I’ll be there later this afternoon around 2:00 2:30. I’ll have the 250 with me. It seems non of my other heli’s are fit to fly. :(

Is the Thunder Power 610c adequate for charging 6s 5000 mah lipo packs and will it support most cheep packs?
zorba
2009-06-08, 08:40 PM
The TP610c is only good for 6S it will do 2S,3S,4S,and 5S also A123's, Minh Nicd.
Is up to you. But if time comes that you want to get any bigger than 5S you have to get another charger.
The TP1010 is much better. I know is pricy but is worth it. You can also download the upgrade from Thunder Power.
Cheers

2009-06-08, 09:50 PM
The 1010 is very good too but it doesn't have the balancer you will need a separate balancer at $100+
If you stay with models that only requirer a maximum of 6s1p the 610c is perfect, thats what I use 2 of them and I love them :D
zorba
2009-06-08, 11:03 PM
Wouldn't be cheaper to buy the 1010 plus the balancer? Instead of having two chargers and two outlets to plug them into?
At the field Would be easier with one power supply and one charger.
cheers
PaulG-rc
2009-06-08, 11:08 PM
No need for two chargers the 610c does 6s1p its just that I have 2 of them so I can charge 2 packs 6s1p at the same time.
The 610c is not expensive I belive it was $145.00
Also look at the total power capability as there are many chargers out there that claim up to 10S and 5A but not at the same time. The 1010 is a 210W charger so can do just that or 5S at 10A just great for a big pack, it is awesome. I also have the 210V balancer, a great combination. I have never regretted spending the money.

2009-06-09, 06:02 PM
I agree Mick, it just comes down too what you are planning to charge.
the 610c can charge a 6s1p at 4A max and charges 1 pack at a time so thats why I like it for what I charge, I dont expect to go to a bigger model needing a bigger pack, its expensive enough :)

Same here Mick. I also updated mine for the A123's.
