I got that kit last year from a friend who started it and then stop flying models. I won't go into as much scale detailing as 'wild' on his superbe Spitfire but it should be an interesting airplane to build and fly. The kit is not very scale (compared to a Proctor kit) but it is easier/quicker to build for sure.
In the last 2 weeks, I made the v-stab, the h-stab, the sub-wing (between the wheels), completed the ailerons, almost completed the upper wing (was partially build when I got the kit) and installed the aileron servos tray. I should start the lower wing this week.
The servos will be standard size, with higher torque on the elevator for additional safety. I plan to use pull-pull on the rudder and elevator, and rods on the ailerons. The power should be the motor of my F3A Synergy, i.e. a Plettenberg Extra 30-10 with 10S LiPo and the total weight should be around 18lbs. The recommanded gas engine is a 25-35cc or a 4 stroke 1.50 so it should have plenty of power with the 10S.
I hope to fly it this spring and I will have pictures of the build in the next post.
