It is going to take a WHILE before the CAN recuperates, better to get used to the idea that our hobby prices will be increasing about 20-30% (they already did) in comparison with a month ago prices.

After the CAN recuperates (probably next year), canadian prices will still stay high for some months, if they go down, I do not think they will go down in the same % that they increased. (refering to the hobby)

Just my 2 cents.

The part I find interesting is when the dollar jumped up they took forever to lower there prices, but as soon as the dollar falls BLAST OFF, up like a rocket.

I placed an order with GH for a kit the 2008-10-13 for 99.99$and a couple of days later the price was "adjusted" to $145.0 "reduced" to 133.
Yeah, sure, 45% currency adjustment...
I hope they respect their policy and deliver at the price I ordered (the product was out of stock).
If not, sorry, that was my last order for them.

Stick it to them where it hurts, buy from the USA, no shipping by FedEx or UPS.

A couple of weeks ago there was a sale on the 12FG on Tower Hobbies, $799.00 USD and Great Hobbies was asking $1299.00 CAD for the exact same model.

If their inventory is not moving, they will be forced to lower their prices.

what it hurts when buying something big from US is the canadian importing taxes + brokerage fees, it ends up being a lot, of course, still cheaper than great hobbies for example, but not that tempting :(

Brokerage fees = UPS and FedEx, use USPS instead.

Deliver to a freight service company in Plattsberg and bring the merchandise over yourself, you will pay GST and exchange rates and duty (maybe).

Freeport Forwarding (http://www.freeportforwarding.com/)

Note their address does not look anything like the picture but the service is the same.

Freeport which is in Champlain N.Y. Once you cross the border the first right then go under the highway and then a left turn, Freeport is right there, go in pay your 3 dollars cdn, even if it is there for 3 or 4 days, then come out continue about 1/2 mile back to cdn border, go in with your bill only. they will check on their computor the prices, so don't try to fool around with the prices, they know, only if you buy on Ebay, and you got a deal, they will go there and check, you pay the taxes, that is it. No duty if not made in China. So make sure that they don't write made in China.
come out and go home with a great deal. I have done this quiet often
