I don't think that one would fit in my minivan very well ...

Forget the minivan. Find a small local kid with a pilot's license and have him or her fly it to the field for you.

If this keep on going we are eventually going to end up with greater than 1:1 scale.

What really gets me is the sound. There is a big difference between an RC plane and a full scale. And this even sounds like a full scale.
I wonder what size of a motor is in it.

3 W makes a 4 cylinder boxer of 600cc and 60hp. This 50% Pitts uses a small 3 W 200cc motor.

Michael, are you planning on a giant for IMAC next year?

Yes I am getting a bigger model for next year.
That is why I was selling all of my other planes.
Are you thinking of competing in IMAC.
You should you know, it is not that hard and is a lot of fun!
I hope you give it some thought, Jeremy.

I believe this plane would be too heavy to be considered a "model" in Canada or USA. I think it would be classified a UAV and not be insurable by MAAC or AMA. In order to fly it, it would have to pass a Department of Transport or FAA inspection and I believe the pilot would need to be certified as well.

It seems that the rules are different in Germany - no 35Kg limit there. Check out this club web site.

Lots of great videos. Anyone understand German?

If I recall correctly, the first full scale Pitts biplane had only 60hp ... !!
