need tip on Ni-Cd vs lipo

HI RC bud,I got a Q: can I exchange 8.4vNi-Cd for S600 motor vs 7.4v lipo with out blow the speed control or the motor.Is that coud work:eek:.I buy a trainer and I dont want the use the heavy Ni-Cd Thanks:cool:

Yes but you'll get less RPM but worth it for the weight saved. Just be carefull not to drain the lipo, Make shure your ESC is Lipo friendly.
